Jeff Kauffman's Ordination Service

Pastor Jeff Kauffman will be ordained (locally) at The Congregational Church of Bound Brook in Bound Brook, NJ at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 25. Join with the church for this meaningful service and Congregational tradition. Lunch will follow the service.

Bound Brook is 20 miles due west of Newark Airport. Please note, the church does not have a parking lot. There is street parking, and we have arranged to use the parking lot of the Episcopal church which is across the street.

Jeff Kauffman was born in Columbus Ohio where he was raised in the Congregational faith at the same Congregational Church that was home to Washington Gladden for most of his life. Jeff pursued a career in the hospitality industry and has worked all over the country.  He later transitioned to restaurant equipment sales. When his employer was sold to a company in New Jersey, he moved from Danbury, Connecticut to Bound Brook, New Jersey.  After many, many, years of time away from any church attendance or association, Jeff joined the Congregational Church of Bound Brook about 27-30 years ago (a church that celebrates its 150th anniversary this year). As his participation grew and evolved, Jeff served many years as a Deacon and then as Senior Deacon. He has also served as Moderator, Financial Secretary, and Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School for 12 years. Jeff enrolled in the NACCC Lay Ministry Training Program and graduated along with the rest of Cohort A in 2024. This was the first class under the revised Lay Ministry program. Jeff is currently serving as interim minister at the Congregational Church of Bound Brook.

Jeff has one daughter, age 29, who lives with her husband and Jeff’s 2-year-old grandson in the same town as he.  Besides his ministry occupation, Jeff owns and operates his own business which he formed 17 years ago engaged in the sale of restaurant equipment and supplies in central New Jersey.  Jeff continues his faith walk and journey and envisions no end point, which is the case with most, if not all, of us.
